Hola, Mi Amigos y Amigas

Have you ever heard what is literature? Have you ever read some literature books. How well do you know about Literature? Are you a fan of reading a literature books?

These questions are just my questions that I always wanted to ask to someone. For honestly, I’m not fond in reading books because whenever, I read books it’s either I will feel sleepy or I find it boring. And that’s one of my common problems that I want to solve.

By the way, let’s go back to what literature is. Literature is a written works, especially those considered of superior or lasting artistic merit. Moreover, let’s dig on to something that can describe literature in education. So what is literature in education? It says that it comprises texts, such as short stories, novels, poetry, prose, plays, film and multimodal texts. The pleasures and understandings afforded by engaged reading, interpreting, and appreciating, evaluating and creating literature enable children to expand their ideas, think deeply and notice new things in their world.

As you can see that literature is not just merely literature without it’s importance. I know that some things are existed because it gives importance to someone. That’s how literature existed too in someone’s life. So how does Literature help education? Literature is a powerful storytelling technology that unites us across space and time. Literature chronicles and preserves the ever-evolving human story. It invites us to reflect on our lives and, in discussion with others, to add our voices to the exploration of timeless human themes. Literature makes us think.

Literature allows a person to step back in time and learn about life on Earth from the ones who walked before us. We can gather a better understanding of culture and have a greater appreciation of them. We learn through the ways history is recorded, in the forms of manuscripts and through speech itself.

Literature provides a language model for those who hear and read it. By using literary texts, students learn new words, syntax and discourse functions and they learn correct sentence patterns, standard story structures. They develop their writing skills.

I see that, Literature really gives importance of someone’s life.

Now, as far as I have remember, our professor ask us if what had happened during the course orientation. So during the said course orientation, it stated in there about the Course Review on what is all about Literature. As well as also giving some online netiquette. Moreover, giving the UC VMGO.

Somehow, it doesn’t mean that you taking this course, you just met this thing and just reading and writing as well also it also need to apply this for your future endeavors. So as a student who is taking your professional course, how can the subject help you in your future endeavors?

Being a student of taking a bachelor of education, I know that it is not easy to face another chapter of our own book. We faced a lot of major and minor subjects that need to be specialized in order to make your profession meaningful. And one of it is studying the literature subject and made it apply to your future profession. So, how does it help us for our future endeavors. Teaching literature in elementary grades is somehow fun as well as a challenge to you. For you are going to maintain and find some strategies on how to deal it with your students. Children’s literature is important because it provides students with opportunities to respond to literature; it gives students appreciation about their own cultural heritage as well as those of others; it helps students develop emotional intelligence and creativity; it nurtures growth and development of the student’s. Literature also gives important in teaching, for using literary texts in the language classroom can make the students more aware of the language they are learning, help them develop skills and strategies they can apply in many different situations and contexts, increase their interest and motivation, and make the learning of the language a more enjoyable. Therefore, in the near future, if you find it difficult in teaching literature, just remember that being a teacher is a dedicated mission that you need to pass as well as also it made you learn something that you can apply it to your real self.

So that’s all and I will leave this quote to remember.

According to P. T. BARNUM, “Literature is one of the most interesting and significant expressions of humanity.”
